Range Rules
Individuals found to be violating any of the below listed Shooting Range rules/policies or acting in any manner jeopardizing life or property will be removed from the range property immediately, WITHOUT REFUND, and will be banned from further range use. Any person acting in violation of the Texas Penal Code will be subject to ARREST AND PROSECUTION.
CRR prides itself on providing a safe shooting environment for all shooters. On your first visit, or if it has been a while since your last visit, you will be required to read these Range Rules in person and participate in a short verbal quiz with a member of Cedar Ridge Range staff.
CRR does not have regularly scheduled ceasefires nor is there a Range Officer on every single bay. Our ROs are constantly roving the range property. Ceasefire needs will be verbally communicated amongst the shooters sharing the bay with you. If you personally need to go downrange to move the distance of your frame, or place new targets on those frames, you would be responsible for calling the ceasefire. You may also take advantage of a ceasefire called by someone else on your bay, or by the target setter, to go downrange and assess your target and distance.
CRR HAS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY.
It is everyone’s responsibility to report any and all violations immediately to Cedar Ridge Range staff for corrective action.
REPORT ALL EQUIPMENT DAMAGE caused by you or others immediately.
CONDUCT & SUPERVISION
- Spectators are not allowed on concrete pads or downrange. No spectator is allowed to handle firearms/ammo, no exceptions.
- Any shooter under 18 years of age must be supervised by a legal guardian who has completed the range rules and paid. Minors will share a lane with their legal guardian unless space allows and it is approved by a member of staff.
- No intoxicated or drug influenced persons will be allowed. Alcoholic beverages or drugs are not allowed at any time.
SAFETY & HANDLING
- Eye and ear protection use is mandatory for everyone.
- Safe firearms handling only — no muzzle will be directed at any person or in any unsafe direction.
- Do not fire from any position other than the designated firing line.
- Shooters will only fire from directly behind the concrete table or inside the painted shooter’s box, unless you have rented a private bay.
- Shoot only at an angle that allows bullets to hit the backstop berm — not side berms or any other objects.
TARGETS & STEEL
- Shotgun shooting is only allowed after the additional fee has been paid and must be done on a special frame or the steel targets. No slugs or steel shot to be used on steel targets.
- You will be charged for any damage you cause to the handgun steel plates — $250 minimum per plate.
- Shoot only the target frame provided to you by CRR. Customers may attach their own paper targets.
- No outside target frames or steel targets allowed.
- Do not shoot at metal ground stands or target frame legs.
- Do not shoot any faster or farther than you can hit your target 100% of the time when shooting paper targets.
AMMUNITION & FIREARMS
- No rifle rounds, even subsonic. Only 22LR & 9mm may have a barrel over 8″ in length.
- Only the following centerfire cartridges are allowed: 22LR, 25/32/380ACP, 9mm, 38SPL, 357SIG, 38SUPER, 357MAG, 40S&W, 10MM, 44SPL, 44MAG, 45ACP, 45COLT.
- Tracer or other types of incendiary ammunition is prohibited.
- No full auto, bump fire, slidefire stocks, or binary triggers allowed.
BRASS
- Pick up only your own brass if you want it — leave the rest lying on the ground. No brass scrounging — thieves will be banned and/or prosecuted.
WHEN A CEASEFIRE IS CALLED
Ceasefire Rules
The following things must happen the moment a ceasefire is called:

Unload all firearms immediately.

Stand clear of equipment — absolutely nothing in anyone’s hands during a ceasefire.

Actions will be locked or blocked open with the chamber area left open and visible.

No equipment will be handled to or from vehicles during a ceasefire or target set-up.
